Born in 1969 in Buhera, Masvingo Province, Zimbabwe.
In 1987, Nesbert began to study sculpture under the tutelage of his uncle, renowned first generation sculptor Nicholas Mukomberanwa. (Nicholas was one of the most famous and internationally respected artists of the Shona sculpture movement and was a prestigious teacher). By 1989, Nesbert felt ready to begin working on his own; he left his apprenticeship and established his own workshop at home in the community of Chitungwiza. There, he worked for nearly a decade developing a distinctive style and gaining international recognition. In 1998, Nesbert relocated to the village of Dema, south of Chitungwiza. In the tranquility of the bush, he was finally free to concentrate fully on his art. He has created The Village Gallery, a workshop for promising young artists to train and a place to exhibit his art collection and that of his new artists. International group exhibitions have featured Nesbert?s work from countries like the Netherlands (2001), Switzerland (2002), United Kingdom (2002) and the United States (2003). He has participated and conducted many local workshops and has an exhibition in 2004 in the National Gallery of Zimbabwe.
